Success is the result of many factors, including hard work, self-discipline and consistency. Success is a process...it's a reflection of the daily steps we take to better ourselves and those around us. Success starts today- and continues each day: for there is no finish line to success.

Action Yields Results

If you're reading this- you're probably an intelligent, critical thinker-who is curious about EVERYTHING! Welcome to the club! The blog theme for August is SUCCESS. We're going to delve into what success is, how it's measured, and discuss what success means to YOU. Success can be defined in many ways, and there is no right or wrong definition, as it's different for each individual. So how would you define success (in your own words)? Take a few minutes to reflect upon your personal definition of success. Think back on a few of your most treasured successes. What comes to mind? How does that make you feel? In what realm of life was the success, i.e. personal life, career life, etc. Now reflect on these achievements. What's the one theme these successes all have in common? Is there a trend or was it mere coincidence? As Zig Ziglar contended: are you a wandering generality or meaningful specific?

Success from My Standpoint

"True success has more components than one sentence or idea can contain." ~Zig Ziglar

Factors and notions that will propel you to achieve success:

1. Goals empower you to do more for yourself and others- resulting in success.

2. You can create positive deposits in your own world every day by becoming an avid learner and reader...leaders are readers.

2b. Listen and associate with positive people who possess life-altering content and have high hopes and a positive outlook on life.

3. Achieve a positive self image. If you see yourself as a crow, you won't soar with the eagles. Choose to soar with the eagles- they fly higher and farther than other birds, they are majestic and powerful in stature.

4. A little adversity never hurt anyone...sometimes it's necessary to experience adversity, as it is a challenge you're forced to overcome to achieve success, and success is achieved by overcoming adversity.

5. "If you can think it, you can dream it...if you can dream it, you can believe it...if you believe it, you can conceive it.

6. Neither success nor failure is an event. Neither entities should define a person. It's a process. If you've never failed, you've never tried. If at first you don't succeed....well, you know the rest....TRY, TRY again...but remember to tweak your efforts each time, adjust accordingly, and give it a go.

7. Don't compare your successes to someone else's- they may be in a different season. You can admire another person's success- but do not envy them...observe and emulate their achievements, echo their style once in a while-and then innovate, cultivate and create your own success story.
